My Background
Patrick was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. His passion for knowledge and excellence was nurtured from an early age by the encouragement of his family, who instilled in him a deep appreciation for learning and exploration. Their support and shared curiosity about the natural world inspired him to pursue a lifelong journey of intellectual growth and achievement.
Patrick attended East Carolina University, where he was awarded the prestigious EC Scholar award (now the Brinkley-Lane Scholar award). He graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning four majors: a B.S. in Biology, a B.S. in Biochemistry, a B.A. in Chemistry, and a B.A. in Philosophy. Patrick then pursued his legal education at Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he demonstrated his exceptional aptitude by passing the Patent Bar and becoming eligible to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office even before graduating.
Prior to Twisdale Law, PC, Patrick worked at the US Patent and Trademark Office, a university’s technology transfer office, and a regional law firm. At the US Patent and Trademark Office, he assisted with the examination of biological based utility patents and plant patents.
